The Challenge
Duplicate this home’s original period style while integrating hidden technology and 21st century convenience. Create new interior floor plan while maintaining the integrity of existing frame and foundation.
The Project
Looking for modern comforts of contemporary construction but attached to their hillside location and long-time family home, these homeowners opted for an extensive remodel and addition.
The upper levels of the home were designed to preserve its original period aesthetic. Plans included exacting details for classic moulding, coffered ceilings and historic lighting. A wealth of elaborate woodwork throughout evokes the fine craftsmanship of yesteryear.
The lower level is a juxtaposition of contemporary treatments, expressed throughout the wine vaults, tasting room, exercise room and lap pool.
Outside, several terraces connect the home to the outdoor pool, landscaped water garden and tennis court.
