The Challenge
Collaborate with Florida-based architects to design and execute this Door County home.
The Project
This waterfront vacation home was designed to take full advantage of the surrounding views. A sunroom, overlooking the private marina, features a painted beam and plank ceiling consistent with the home’s coastal design. Other waterside elements are repeated throughout, including a nautical-themed study finished entirely in teak.
The home wraps around a courtyard, providing shelter and privacy for outdoor living. A stonework chimney does dual duty for a deck-side barbeque outside and a private fireplace inside.
In keeping with the waterfront aesthetic, the exterior is an elegant combination of cedar shakes and stone, culminating with a celadon roof. A lighthouse-esque turret and cupola complete the look.
