The Challenge
Convert an existing home into an ultra-modern showplace. Identify alternative building materials and construction methods to successfully execute the designer’s vision.
The Project
Perched above the Bay of Green Bay, this distinctive residence is an epitome of Modernism. A recognized achievement among the architectural community, this expansive home connects light, geometry and space within a rigid steel structure. The 9,000 square foot facility links interior living areas with ribbons of space, evocative of the homeowner’s passion for small-scale slot car racing.
Interior features include a master suite, study with integrated grow room, home theater, workout room, garage and an expanded slot car racing facility. An elevated glass wing provides a singular relaxation spot, while a steel bird-watching platform at the rear offers unparalleled views of the cliff-side environs.
Clean lines and innovative materials continue throughout from the stainless steel countertops in the kitchen to the solid-sheet yellow fiberglass wrapping exterior portions of the home.
